Get involved

Volunteer with the campaign.

I am grateful to every neighbor who helps with this campaign. Most volunteers walk Ward 8 with a partner on Saturday mornings, and there are ways to help from home as well.

Canvassing

Volunteers go out in pairs with a short list of streets and campaign literature. At each door, you introduce yourself as a volunteer with the campaign, leave the literature, and ask whether there is anything the resident would like me to know. Most conversations take a minute or two.

Canvassing is on Saturday mornings. You are welcome to join as often as your schedule allows.

Questions

  • Do I need to know the issues? No. If a resident asks something you cannot answer, write it down and I will follow up.
  • Will I be asked to debate anyone? No. You are there to introduce the campaign and listen. If a conversation turns unfriendly, thank the resident and move on.
  • How much time do I need to give?As much or as little as you are able. There is no minimum commitment.
  • What if I am not able to walk door to door? There is plenty to do from home, including making calls and sending Friend-to-Friend cards. Choose what suits you on the form.
